Boy, Oh Boy!
The Payne Train officially welcomed it's newest member (and littlest caboose) today. Nathanael Lewis Payne was born at 6:20 am on October 23rd. He weighed in at 8 lbs, 13 oz and 20 inches long. Nathanael joins a long tradition of boys (5 in all with 4 kids and one dad) in the Payne Train. Poor mom is still the only girl in the house.

Hobbies
It’s interesting how everyone has different ways to relax or unwind. For some the thought of sewing is the most relaxing thing they can think of, while others would prefer to be sitting in a dentist’s chair over the thought of sewing. Others find it very enjoyable to sit in front of the TV to watch a football game on a Sunday afternoon. Others would rather watch paint dry than try to imagine sitting through an entire football game.
I guess that’s why there are different clubs for people with common interests. Those who like to sew can have their sewing club and the football fans can participate in fantasy football leagues and water cooler discussions.

What happened to creativity?
As I sit here and watch my middle son play stickball, (yes, he is using a stick from a tree and hitting a ball off a tee) it makes me wonder where our creativity has gone. Is it that we lose our creativity as we get older, or has our culture grown so used to instant entertainment that there is no need for creativity? In today’s world of video games, TV, and internet entertainment have we lost the creativity of coming up with games like stickball?
