The Payne's began their Independence Day celebration a week early with the Patriotic Musical and the annual parade. In the past the Musical had been held outdoors. This year it was held in the East Jr. High Fieldhouse. The benefit of an indoor event is you don't have to worry about rain. The negative is that on a hot and humid day, it gets very warm inside. Saturday night was hot and humid, but everyone enjoyed the Musical. Sunday morning was much cooler (Chris was glad since he was in the choir both days).
Sunday afternoon we enjoyed the annual parade. The parade lines up in our neighborhood and we only have to walk two blocks to see the parade. We sit near the start of the parade so we don't get to see the whole thing. Most people would see that as a disadvantage. What they don't realize is that you get a lot more candy where we sit since there are few kids on that end of the parade.

Father's Day Weekend and the Pizza Bakeoff
It was a weekend full of amazing foods for the Payne's. The 1st (possibly annual) pizza bakeoff took place on Saturday night. The judges were presented with four pizzas. Two from Cari and two from Emily. After tallying the votes, Cari won with her stuffed crust sausage and mushroom pizza. It was a beautiful night outside and a very hot night in the kitchen. Wonderful pizzas were enjoyed by all.
On Father's Day we went to Andy and Molly's for a cookout. Jeremiah provided meat from the meat shop he works at. The meat was amazing. Imagine this: meat wrapped in meat! It was amazing. Chicken filled with meats and cheeses, steak filled with meats and cheeses and pork filled with meats and cheeses. It was an awesome lunch to celebrate Father's Day.
Enjoy the pictures

Wedding in Rome
It's a short 30 minute drive from our house to Rome (Wisconsin). This weekend we went to an outdoor wedding that was held on a golf course. It was a perfect day for an outdoor wedding. Here are some pictures of the Payne's enjoying the beautiful day.

Happy Birthday, Levi!
Yesterday was Levi's birthday. It's hard to believe that we have an 8 year-old son. We celebrated with Chinese food (that we actually paid for), and chocolate cake. For those that don't get the Chinese food inside joke, that means you don't come out to visit us enough and buy Chinese food for us :). In this photo album are pictures from this birthday and some pictures of Levi through the years. Enjoy!
